Our Gala

The Montreal chapter of the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) is thrilled to announce that legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Beach Boys, will be performing live for its 35th Annual Gala, to be held on April 1, 2012 at Place des Arts. Join us for an unforgettable evening that will help put us closer to our goal of finding a cure! We’ll be bopping to a wide array of classic tunes that have stood the test of time: among others, Surfin’ USA, Wouldn’t It Be Nice, California Dreamin’, and Good Vibrations, with dynamic founding member, Mike Love, and his talented band.

The Beach Boys continue to hold the Billboard record as the top-selling American band for albums and singles, and they are also the American group with the most Billboard Top 40 chart hits—a total of 36! More recently, Rolling Stone Magazine has awarded their just-released album The Smile Sessions as 2011’s #1 Reissue of the Year. Take advantage of this special opportunity to see The Beach Boys prior to their 50th Anniversary album release and international tour!

Our Honourees

This year’s gala humbly honours the memory of four prominent Montrealers, all of whom valiantly fought this insidious disease—the late Judith Amar, Steven Backler, Jeffrey Brull, and Robert Shadowitz 

We are pleased to also present our Community Service Honourary Fellowship to worthy recipients, Alexia & Anthony Calvillo.

Our Goal

For this special 35th Anniversary, we have set our sights higher than in previous years to fund research in Montreal, Canada and in Israel—research that will lead to important new discoveries in the fight against cancer and help all those who continue to be affected throughout the world. We cannot achieve this important target without your help.
