A message from Leah Dayan, Ride 4 Resilience organizer:

Dear Friends,

Ride for Resilience is a bike ride in loving memory of Marie-Pierre Dubé. A caring, kind, courageous and beautiful woman inside and out.

Throughout Marie’s treatments, her biggest support and drive to keep going was the word resilience.

In November of 2019, I was approached to be a co-chair for ICRF’s annual fashion show. Without a doubt, I accepted the offer. How can I reject such an opportunity that collides both my favourite hobby, dancing, while raising money for cancer research. When I spoke to my family about the journey I was about to embark on, Marie expressed without a doubt that the theme of this year's fashion show should be resilience, and that the logo should envision a flower blooming out of a concrete floor; hence, resilience.

Unfortunately, after many months of hard work, tears, and laughter, ICRF’s Resilience 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, just 13 days before the show, which was on March 26th, 2020.

With much hardship and discouragement, I knew I had to keep my head held up high and maintain the message of resilience through it all.

Just a few short months after, on November 7th 2020, our loving Marie-Pierre passed away from a rare cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

Since the pandemic was still very present, my family and I vowed that we would do something to commemorate our loving Marie-Pierre once the societal situation would gradually improve.

In February of 2022, my family and I, alongside ICRF, had the idea to organize a bike ride in memory of Marie-Pierre, allowing me to finish the journey I began with this outstanding organization.

Join us on September 18th 2022 at 12 o’clock for an 18 km bike ride, in the heart of Dollard des Ormeaux, where Marie-Pierre was born and raised. Together, we will ride for resilience.

Sincerely,

Leah Dayan
